Teaching Assistant of International Buddhist College, Sis Wong Ping Ling shared on " A Visit to Niushoushan in Nanjing ".

NiuShouShan（牛首山）located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China. It is a low hill with its main peak at 242.9 meters high.

Niushoushan is known as “Ox Head Mountain” because its East Peak and West Peak face each other in the shape of the two horns of an ox.

According to Most Venerable Wei Wu’s Dharma talk “One Lives in Jiang Hu, You Can’t Always Do as You Like” in the chapter on pure veganism, he mentioned that the patriarchs of Chinese Buddhism were all endowed with profound wisdom. They actively promoted vegetarianism in China and advocated that Buddhist disciples should adopt a purely vegetarian diet.

On Saturday, 15 November 2025, Than Hsiang Vege Farm in Balik Pulau held a Cleansing Ceremony and Gathering. A total of 70 participants attended, including Most Venerable Wei Wu, the newly appointed abbot Venerable Zhen Sheng, Sangha members, staff, and lay devotees.

The cleansing ceremony began at 9:30 AM. Most Venerable Wei Wu performed the cleansing of the Vege farm, while newly appointed abbot, Venerable Zhen Sheng led the chanting. Throughout the ceremony, everyone chanted sincerely, signifying that the Than Hsiang Vege Farm was officially ready for use.

On the nineteenth day of the ninth lunar month (8/11/2025), Than Hsiang Temple held a noon offering session and Pu Men Pin on-site cultivation to celebrate Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s Renunciation Birthday.

Teaching Assistant of IBC, Brother Tan Jee Peng sharing " Buddhaghosa's main contribution to Theravada Buddhism "

Buddhaghosa's main contribution to Theravada Buddhism was the compilation and systematic explanation of its scriptures through his commentaries and original works, particularly the Visuddhimagga ( The Path to Purification).

On November 1st, Than Hsiang Temple held the Installation Ceremony for the newly appointed Abbot, Venerable Zhen Sheng. The ceremony was attended by Datuk Steven Ooi, Datuk Ooi Hoe Leng, members of the Monastic Council and Lay Sangha Council, representatives from various Than Hsiang groups, as well as temple staff and volunteers.

Than Hsiang Temple held a Vegetarian Food Festival from 21st to 29th October 2025 (1st to 9th day of the 9th lunar month).

Before the start of the Vegetarian Food Festival, the canteen team, comprising of volunteers and staff, had already devoted themselves wholeheartedly to their preparatory work. Throughout the nine-day-event, all volunteers and staff worked together in their respective teams, contributing diligently and in an orderly manner.

Today, I would like to share with you the topic of “Buddhist Epigraphs in Ancient Kedah”.

In general, I will cover a few areas.

Than Hsiang Temple will be hosting a Vegetarian Food Festival from 21st to 29th October 2025 (1st to 9th day of the 9th lunar month).

On the first day of the Vegetarian Food Festival, all staff and volunteers began their duties early in the morning, working harmoniously and with focus. Some were stationed at the noodle stall packing noodles, others were preparing lunch boxes, cutting vegetables, or delivering meals to designated locations.
