In Mahayana Buddhism, dana (giving) is the first of the six perfections on the Bodhisattva Path. These six perfections to be acquired are:
giving ( dana ),
morality ( sila ),
patience ( ksanti ),
vigor ( virya ),
meditation ( dhyana ), and
wisdom ( prajna ).
Donating towards Than Hsiang Fund is thus a meritorious deed and you are on the first step of the Bodhisattva Path.
