On the evening of the 24th day of the 7th lunar month (September 15, 2025), Than Hsiang Temple in Penang held a solemn cleansing ceremony at 7:30 PM in the 5th-floor Multi-Purpose Hall.

Following the ceremony, the new abbot of Than Hsiang Temple, Venerable Zhen Sheng, compassionately delivered a Dharma talk. Venerable’s Dharma talk covered the following topics: the principle of practice behind “This mind makes a Buddha; this mind is Buddha”; the Pure Land path of rebirth through mindfulness of Amitabha Buddha’s Forty-Eight Vows; and the core purpose of the “Three Sessions of Pure Land Chanting” Dharma assembly.

After the Dharma talk, the Sangha led everyone in chanting the Amitabha Sutra, bringing the cleansing ceremony to a close.

From the 25th to the 29th day of the 7th lunar month (September 16–20, 2025), Than Hsiang Temple will conduct daily dedication and transference of merits at 11:00 AM at both the Longevity Altar and the Pure Land Altar on the 5th floor. Additionally, each evening at 8:00 PM, there will be a chanting session of the Amitabha Sutra in the Ground Floor Great Compassion Hall, followed by Dharma talks given by Sangha members.

On the 30th day of the 7th lunar month (September 21, 2025, Sunday), the temple will host the Filial Piety Dharma Assembly, which will be conducted both onsite and via live stream.

We sincerely invite everyone to join the Amitabha Sutra chanting sessions and to attend the Filial Piety Dharma Assembly on the final day. Through the collective practice of the Three Sessions of Pure Land Chanting, let us remember and honor the kindness of our departed family members.
