Press Conference for Venerable Hui Ming’s Dharma Propagation in Penang

A press conference for Venerable Hui Ming’s Dharma Talks in Penang was held at Than Hsiang Temple in the morning of 21st May 2012. The talks with the theme “Bodhi Heart, Bodhisattva Act” will be held at the Phor Tay High School Hall in Penang, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night from 26th May to 30th May. This grand event is hosted by the four Phor Tay Schools i.e. Phor Tay High School,Phor Tay Kindergarten,Phor Tay Primary School and Phor Tay Private High School. The main organizer is Than Hsiang Temple while the co-organizers come from more than thirty Buddhist associations in Northern Malaysia.

Venerable Hui Ming was born in Tainan, Taiwan in 1953. He is skilled at expounding the Buddha's teachings in multiple languages such as Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese and English. The Venerable has propagated Dharma to more than 60 countries worldwide. He has been propagating the Dharma for more than thirty years in Malaysia since his first visit in 1983. In a word, Venerable Hui Ming has contributed much to Dharma propagation in Malaysia.

A reporter and a photographer from Kwong Wah Yit Poh attended the press conference. During the press conference, Venerable Hui Ming told us that everyone should learn to become a Bodhisattva to create a wonderful living environment. He emphasized that the quality life of a Bodhisattva practitioner is respectable and noble. The Venerable later briefed us about qualities of five Bodhisattvas (Manjusri, Avalokitesvara, Ksitigarbha, Samantabhadra and Maitreya) which he would talk about during the five-night Dharma talks at the Phor Tay High School Hall.

There will be five remarkable Dharma topics for five consecutive nights at the Phor Tay High School Hall. The Dharma talks will be conducted mainly in Chinese. For those who are interested in attending the talks, please get your tickets from the organizer or co-organizers. Every donation of RM1 will be entitled to five tickets covering all five Dharma talks.
